I HAVE DISCOVERED THE ULTIMATE TRIP TO TAKE IN THE FALL!
Oregon Wine Country is just heaven this time of year and would be the perfect weekend getaway or week long vacation destination. The region offers so many things to do, from historic towns to quirky cities, craft brews to scenic bikeways, the Willamette Valley offers inviting escapes both travelers and locals!
And the best part of Willamette Valley, you do not have to be a wine connoisseur to have a great time. Don't say no to this trip because you think it will be all about wine; there are ample opportunities to explore the Oregon countryside!
This is King Estate Winery, one of the most renowned wineries for Pinot Noir in the region. When you take a tour here make sure you plan for a meal at their award winning fine dining restaurant that is open 7 days a week. Their speciality is pairing Northwest wines with regional food products, using organic ingredients both estate and locally grown. Reservations are strongly recommended.
Grab a couple bottles of wine, cheese, some artisan bread, a blanket and a back pack before you set off on a picturesque hike to one of the many waterfalls in the area. Set off in the morning to be back before early afternoon so you could still have time for a tour and dinner! Check out traveloregon.com for a complete list of hiking destinations and much, much more to help plan your visit!
The sunshine is abundant this time of year in Oregon Wine Country which means it is the perfect time to witness the extraordinary changing of seasons. The colors here just seem to be more vibrant...maybe thats because of all the wine that is drank! You can book a tour of the vineyards via horseback or you can bike through them - either way make sure you immerse yourself in them at lease once before you leave.

A hugely popular activity in Oregon Wine Country is biking. If you are a cyclist bring your bike along or rent one and cruise down the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway. The entire bikeway is 134.2 miles, is moderately difficult, and originates in Jefferson if you are interested in tour the valley that way. For more information visit the Bikeway's official website!
Who doesn't love food, all the restaurants in the Valley are dedicated to serving fresh, local, and organic food. For a complete list of restaurants visit the Willamette Valley Wineries website.
