2015 FALL TRAVEL TRENDS HAVE BEEN RELEASED AND HONESTLY I AM SURPRISED BY THE RESULTS.
This survey was conducted by Travel Leaders Group from August 3 – August 25, 2015, and includes responses from 1,152 U.S.-based travel agency owners, managers, and frontline travel agents from the flagship Travel Leaders brand, along with those affiliated with Travel Leaders Group’s Cruise Specialists, Nexion, Protravel International, Results! Travel, Travel Leaders Corporate, Tzell Travel Group and Vacation.com units. source
Typically as the weather starts to get colder, folks start to want to be warmer and that means heading south or west. But according to Travel Leaders Group, New York City ranks the highest in domestic travel for the remainder of 2015.
The reason this is unusual is because places like Orlando and Las Vegas in the past have been the most popular Fall and Winter domestic destinations.
“Based on actual bookings, New York made a remarkable leap over perennial top destinations like Las Vegas and Orlando. It is an incredibly vibrant, world-class city for leisure and business travelers alike. From the fall right through the holidays, it’s nothing short of spectacular,” stated Travel Leaders Group CEO Barry Liben. “In addition, the data we have collected indicates travel will continue to be strong for the remainder of the year, which is leading to incredible optimism among our travel agent specialists. It’s because of the work they do, on behalf of their clients – providing their knowledge, expertise and a safety net, if the need arises – that is helping Americans take full advantage of their travel budgets and discretionary income for travel opportunities.” source
AS FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL THE 2015 FALL TRAVEL TRENDS ARE A BIT DIFFERENT...
Among the millenial travelers a new travel trend that has hit the radar are vacations to Greece. Folks my age, 29, are very opportunistic travelers meaning when we notice luxury destinations in a slump it creates more affordable travel, so we take advantage. And that is where the international trend is coming from: Greece's fiscal dilemma.
Also on the international trend for Americans are the typical Caribbean cruises, Cancun, Mexico, London, England, Rome, Italy, and European River Cruises.
The common international trend disappoint me because I wish travelers would break out of the typical travel shell and experience destinations that are not flooded with tourists, that are not comfortable, that are a little harder to get to, where it is not just like home.
IF I COULD CREATE MY OWN FALL TRAVEL TRENDS IT WOULD LOOK LIKE THIS:
Domestic travel: California, Arizona, Alaska, Oregon
International travel: Greece, South America, Montenegro, Indonesia, Spain etc etc...
Destinations that are a bit...actually way more, adventurous and I would have people vacation outside of big cities.
WHAT ARE GOING TO BE YOUR 2015 TRAVEL TRENDS?
Why are you going to travel? What do you look for in a vacation? Does you age have anything to do with your preference of trip?
I want to know so please rely to the questions in the comment section! Tell me where you plan on traveling for the remainder of the year and even into 2016!
