UNITED MILITARY TRAVEL HOPES EVERYONE HAD A GREAT LABOR DAY FULL OF FESTIVITIES, R&R AND TRAVEL!
Ours was fantastic! My family went to a little beach village in the Outer Banks called Corolla, it is the northernmost town along the sand bar that protects the mainland of North Carolina from the ocean.
Corolla is actually where Josh and I consider ourselves to be "from". We both were born elsewhere, but our hearts belong to Corolla so it just feels right that we say it is our home.
This northern Outer Banks community is a wonderful family vacation destination as it offers intimate home settings, world class beaches, family friendly restaurants, and a ton of kid friendly activities.
You can take horse tours of the four wheel drive beaches to see the native wild spanish mustangs, climb the Currituck Lighthouse, hike nature trails through the coastal habitat, go on guided kayak tours of the Currituck sound, ride go carts, play putt putt, and so much more!
Here is a look at what we did this past weekend in Corolla!
- We ate the famous Cosmos Pizza that is oh so delicious!!!
- I took Noah to see the Currituck Lighthouse which was his very first time seeing one!
- We spent an hour at the Island Bookstore which is in the old Corolla Village by the Lighthouse - it is a fantastic bookstore with an amazing variety of books!
- From there we headed to the Timbuck Two Shopping Center where Mike Dianna's Grillroom is located because every Saturday they have free BBQ and live music for you to enjoy while you wait on your rental house to open up.
- Yes, that is our baby on the bar! Mike Dianna's is super kid friendly :)
- Sweet baby Noah is such a beach baby - he has a new love and that is sand crab holes! So now and him our dog love to dig!
- Noah already loves the beauty of the ocean...
