A Mediterranean Delight

Wanna take a 7 Day Cruise through the Mediterranean?
This is what it would look like...

on this...

Princess Cruise Lines offers a 7 day trip departing form Venice, Italy stopping in five of the most beautiful destinations in the Mediterranean and ending in Athens, Greece.
Does that not sound heavenly???
If it were me, I would take a two week vacation and spend two days in Venice before departing and then two in Athens before returning home.

Lets take a tour of the coastal towns you would visit on this cruise.

Venice

Before you board take a stroll around St. Marks Basilica then pick up a piece of famed Venetian Glass and enjoy a glass of wine in the Piazza San Marco.  Or for a more formal tour sign up for a walking, guided tour to learn of the historical significance behind each building.

Split, Croatia

During your ten hour layover in Split you have multitude of activities to choose from like booking an excursion to Krka National Park to swim in a crystal clear lagoon or head to the best beach there, Bacvice.  Afterwards hit up their local market and try some of their world famous seafood dishes!

Kotor, Montenegro

Kotor is known to be the best kept secret in Montenegro and that means that it is still one of those gem cities that the tourist population has not inundated and ruin with nasty tourist traps and over populated streets.  Also, the Medieval town is a UNESCO world heritage site so it is kept clean and preserved and was designed for you to get lost in....literally; if you do just find the St. Tryphon Cathedral to use as a guide. In this town I suggest just wandering lazily stopping in local stores and dining on the fresh cuisine.

Corfu, Greece

Loggas Beach
To spend a perfect day in Corfu I would recommend visiting the world famous beaches.  Loggas Beach is known for the billowy bluffs and warm sand while La Grotta Cove offers a chance to let loose a bit at the La Grotta Bar.  Or if you rather take a break from the sun, explore the romantic side and stroll around "old town" Corfu.  No matter what you do this quaint sea town will be sure to win your heart.

Katakolon, Greece

Perfect seaside dining
A historical buffs delight, it is the gateway to Olympia where you will find ancient temples, monuments, art, theatre s and alters.  Whatever you want to see Katakolon can take you there.  It is the perfect port to break up the beach days and get you exploring the history of Greece.  I cannot remember the name of the restaurant above with the blue chairs but I had an seafood pasta dish that would blow an foodie's mind!

Mykonos, Greece

I feel little introduction is needed for this breathtaking seaside town.  Easily the best things to do here are wander the streets, dine seaside, bask in the glorious Mediterranean sunshine and pick up some unique gifts.
Panormos Beach is the best beach there as it is more laid back then the others.

And if you want to lounge resort side head to Paradise or Nammos Beach.
For shopping the place to be is Matoyianni Street where you will find lots of great little shops ranging from boutiques, art galleries and restaurants.  Mykonos is known for jewelry so be prepared to wowed by the elegance and beauty this island greats.

Athens, Greece

To conclude your voyage end it in Athens where you can indulge in culture, history, nightlife, cuisine and nature.  Since it is your last stop feel free to stay as long as you want to explore before heading home.
