HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE U.S. MILITARY CAMPGROUNDS AND RV PARKS THAT ARE JUST FOR MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES?
For all you camping junkies out there, there are 264 military campgrounds and RV parks across the United States that offer a place for military folks to find relaxation. Camping is a fantastic way to spend quality time with your family as it promotes participation, unity, and bonding. Head out for a weekend of fun in the woods...or beach... by packing the family in the RV and head out to your favorite campsite - it is sure to create favorite family memories!
For example....
Stationed in San Diego or southern California? Head to the Del Mar Beach Resort for camping right on the Pacific Ocean at one of two beaches, Del Mar Beach or San Onofre Beach! These two facilities offer your basic campgrounds plus RV hookups and camping amenities such as:
dump * sewer * water * electric * tent area * laundry * showers * playground * picnic area * beach * fishing * diesel * gas * commissary * exchange * lodge * fitness center * shoppette * snack bar * class VI * marina * movie theater * museum * post office.
Even if you are not stationed in SoCal, United Military Travel can fly you out or hook you up with a car rental so you can enjoy California living for a weekend....or however long through a military travel loan!
Advanced reservations are required for both of these campsites:
Active Duty Marines - up to 12 weeks prior to arrival
Other military and retirees: up to 10 weeks prior to arrival
MCCS or DoD: 9 weeks prior to arrival
For a list of rates for all accommodations at Del Mar Beach Resort view their website.
San Onofre State Beach consists of 3,000 acres of Southern California coastline between San Clemente and Camp Pendleton. Bordered to the east and south by Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Reserve, San Onofre State Beach offers beach goers a chance to experience what Southern California’s beaches may have looked like before sprawling mansions and towering condominiums dotted its coastline.source: Daytrippen
